If you have been following this blog, you probably wondered what has happened to the almost daily posts. Well, there have been a few interruptions, the weather got nicer, the Yankees have been playing better, illness, life in general, but basically, I got stuck in a procrastination loop. It didn’t bother me all that much since I had a decent backlog of posts but I wanted to get back to you all with the why and what I am doing about it. In it, she mentioned some methods of actively creating situations for optimizing your creative environment, physically and mentally. Mostly common-sense tips like finding a comfortable spot to work, and minimal distractions etc. but it led me to finding a book by Dr Madhu Bazaz Wangu

In the book, she combines Mindfulness, Walking in Nature, Journaling, and Meditation. Arousing (hopefully) your brain into an optimal creative state via a year-long daily set of Practice, Inspiration, and Journal Prompts. I’m on my second day, and I find it easy enough. I have been practicing meditation for years, and I walk every day that I can. The best thing is that it has made me sit down and write, something I’ve been missing. Onward!
